Covering Kids & Families Campaign Partnership with National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers Will Help Get Millions of Kids Covered
Washington, DC - This fall, an estimated one in nine children will begin the new school year without health care coverage. Fortunately, most of these children are eligible for low-cost or free coverage through the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) or Medicaid. To help get millions of eligible kids the coverage they need, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign is asking teachers, school administrators and other officials to help inform parents about the availability of low-cost and free health care coverage.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is kicking off its annual Covering Kids & Families Back-to-School Campaign in Washington, D.C. in August, with events planned nationwide. The campaign encourages parents of America's 8.4 million uninsured children to learn if their children are eligible for Medicaid or SCHIP.
